What is Opalized Wood?
Opalized wood occurs naturally. When the wood of the tree breaks down and thousands of years go by, opaline silica may form in its place. The water in that silica is rich in copper, iron, and manganese. Those copper and manganese deposits are what creates this beautiful blue opal!

All of the gemstones used in this piece are untreated and are of natural color. Wrapped in 14K yellow gold, the opalized wood is held with a hand-fabricated custom-fit backing, ensuring a perfect fit and added security.
